Ozzy Osbourne on how he almost died

"It haunts me, all this crazy stuff. Every day of my life has been an event. I took lethal combinations of booze and drugs for thirty fucking years. I survived a direct hit by a plane, suicidal overdoses, STDs. I've been accused of attempted murder. Then I almost died while riding over a bump on a quad bike at fucking two miles per hour."

- Ozzy Osbourne, after he had crashed his quad bike and broken his neck

Looking for a good time

A lot of it ain't gonna be pretty. I've done some bad things in my time. I've always been drawn to the dark side, me. But I ain't the devil. I'm just John Osbourne: a working-class kid from Aston, who quit his job in the factory and went looking for a good time.

Ozzy tries to find out why he’s not dead

"I was curious, given the swimming pools of booze I’ve guzzled over the years - not to mention all of the cocaine, morphine, sleeping pills, cough syrup, LSD, Rohypnol… there’s really no plausible medical reason why I should still be alive. Maybe my DNA could say why."

- Ozzy Osbourne, after having his DNA genome sequenced and analyzed.

The Nikki Sixx vs Ozzy Osbourne gross-out showdown

ozzy osbourne and motley crue

When Mötley Crüe opened for Ozzy Osbourne's Bark at the Moon tour in 1984, a gross-out showdown took place. After snorting a line of ants, Ozzy upped the ante by urinating on the floor and licking it up. Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx rose to the challenge and also peed, but Ozzy beat him to the slurp! "From that moment on," Sixx later recalled, "we always knew that wherever we were, there was someone who was sicker and more disgusting than we were!"
